FAQs on NEET 2019

With NEET 2019 examination – UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – UG) fast approaching, here are answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQs) on NEET 2019. Please note, do refer to the official website: https://neet.nta.nic.in/ for confirmation and clarifications. Lets get to the questions then!
  1. When is the NEET exam going to be held this year, 2019?On 5th May Sunday, between 2 pm – 5 pm.
  2. When is the latest I need to be at the exam hall?You need to be at the exam hall by 1.30 pm latest. After that you will not be allowed to enter.
  3. Will admission to AIIMS and JIPMER, Puducherry be made through NEET 2019?No. These are the two exceptions since they are institutions established through an act of Parliament.
  4. Where can I find the complete official Instructions for NEET 2019?All the instructions are provided in the Information Bulletin available on the website www.nta.ac.in and https://neet.nta.nic.in/
  5. When can I print the Admit Card for NEET 2019?You can print your Admit Cards in the official NTA website from 15th April 2019 onwards.
  6. Can I get a refund for my examination fee if I am unable to attend the exam due to any reason?No. The examination fee will neither be carried forward to a future examination nor refunded. Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn.
  7. What are the languages in which the NEET 2019 exam will be conducted?The NEET 2019 will be conducted in 11 languages – Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu
  8. If a candidate is opting for Hindi or Regional language as medium of question paper, in which language will the Test Booklet be provided to the candidate?Candidates will be provided with Bilingual Test Booklet, i.e., in the chosen language and in English.
  9. What if there is any ambiguity or a lack of clarity in translation of any question in the Bilingual Test Booklet?In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.
  10. Is it compulsory to take Maths if I want to appear in NEET (UG) – 2019?No, you do not need Maths.
  11. What is the maximum marks I can score in NEET 2019? What is the split up of scoring?The maximum marks is 720. For Physics and Chemistry 45 questions each and Biology 90 questions. For each correct answer you will get 4 marks. Since total number of questions 180, the maximum marks you can score is 720 marks.
  12. Will there be negative marking in NEET 2019?Yes there will be negative marking. For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score.
  13. What can I bring to the examination centre?You should only bring the following documents:
    • Print copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA’s website
    • One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the online Application Form)
    • Any one of the authorized photo IDs that is original, valid and not expired – PAN Card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card (with photograph)/Ration Card
  14. When will the results of NEET 2019 be declared?The results of NEET 2019 will be uploaded on the website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ by 5th June 2019, Wednesday.
