IBMYP - Middle Years Programme
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for students aged 11-16.
The MYP is a curriculum that challenges students to link their academic studies with the practical world. It is a five-year program that can be adopted by schools either in partnership or in shorter formats of two, three, or four years. Upon completion of the MYP, students are well-equipped to pursue either the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the Career-related Programme (CP).
The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally-minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance, locally, nationally, and globally, resulting in young people who are creative, critical, and reflective thinkers.
How is the MYP curriculum structured at Catalyze?
The MYP curriculum framework consists of eight subject groups that offer a comprehensive and well-rounded education to young adolescents. Out of the 8 subject groups, the following subjects are offered in Catalyze which are PERSONALIZED TO THE POTENTIAL OF THE LEARNER AND TO THE LEARNING STYLE OF THE LEARNER.
The objective of the MYP program at Catalyze is to help students develop into well-rounded individuals who are capable of independent thinking, critical analysis, and self-reflection. The MYP program emphasizes the importance of service as action, which involves making a positive impact on the community and environment.
Additionally, the MYP curriculum focuses on STEM education as an important perspective from which to consider integrated teaching and learning in concepts and skills related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
How does STEM work in MYP at Catalyze?
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed to promote interdisciplinary learning and teaching. The program's structure provides various opportunities for students to establish connections between traditional academic subjects, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses.

How do I choose my subject for IBDP?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers guidance to students to help them choose the most appropriate subjects for their diploma. If you need some examples of subject combinations, you can speak to our Program Counselor. Sign up for an appointment here.
Students can select subjects from six subject groups, which include studies in language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, and the arts. Additionally, students have the option to study an extra sciences, individuals and societies, or languages subject instead of a subject in the arts.
In the IB program, students take some subjects at a higher level (HL) and some at a standard level (SL). HL and SL subjects vary in scope, but they are evaluated according to the same grade descriptors. At the higher level, students are expected to demonstrate a greater body of knowledge, understanding, and skills.
Every student must take a minimum of three or a maximum of four subjects at the higher level and the remaining subjects at the standard level. Standard level subjects take up 150 teaching hours, while higher level subjects require 240 teaching hours.

TESTIMONIALS
See what our IB curriculum students' parents says
We are thrilled to share how Catalyze revolutionizing education, one learner at a time.
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for helping us out with Prasanna.
As you know, Prasanna was in an extremely challenging situation, when we moved from US to India with almost no clear hope of recovery, when we approached Catalyze.
Glad to see the great support, coordination we received from Usha Mam and when things were not working out, Sanjay Sir jumped in, moderated all of us so well to keep us focused to get to today where we see light at the end of the tunnel. It's amazing to see how everyone including Rajashree Mam, Sanjay Sir, Usha Mam and Vrinda Mam stood strong without giving up on my child until he succeeded.
Special Thanks to Catalyze for connecting us with Vrinda Mam, who is the savior of my child. Am not sure how I should express my gratitude to Vrinda Mam.
Prasanna had little confidence when Vrinda mam started teaching him, we went through ton of debates/challenges in understanding the best approach to get Prasanna back on track but If I remember it right, in every instance Vrinda mam was calm, super clear on what needs to be done, it can be done and how long it will take but it took time for me to really get it.
As mentioned in Vrinda mam's WhatsApp DP message "If you think u can, u can!!!, she has proven it that nothing is impossible if we have the right determination, grit by moving Prasanna from a low score of 2 to TODAY when he scored the highest possible grade in 7.
Catalyze has brought my child to a state where he is confident & hoping to get good universities and a good life which could have not been possible without help from each one of you.
Thank you! Stay Blessed!"
Mahantesh P/O Prasanna, IBDP HL Math
"I looked for many tutoring centers for IB curriculum but was not satisfied. Catalyze is a great center where the tutors were very encouraging. My daughter has developed a liking and has built confidence in Math and Physics. Both her tutors Mrs. Vrinda and Mrs. Thahirunnissa have been instrumental in developing her confidence. I have recommended you to many of my friends. It is such a relief not to worry about our daughter's safety when she is learning online. We save time and energy."
P/O of Nivedha, IB, Grade 10, Chennai
"Thanks to Catalyze Team of teachers with special mention to Mrs. Sunanda, Mrs. Renuka and Mrs. Kumudha for supporting and encouraging Abraham in his IBDP program. With all your support he has secured admission in Nottingham university in the UK. We came to you at a critical point in his life and thanks for being an anchor for him."
